Mission Statement

New Life Community Church is located among the beautiful rolling hills and thick, hardwood forests of central Virginia.  All around us we see the evidence of our glorious Creator; and His majesty is proclaimed from the smallest acorn and sapling, all the way to the mighty Oak stands.   From these native images we have derived the following visual expression of our Mission Statement.

At New Life Community Church, our mission is to see people
connect with God through evangelism and Sunday services;
grow in Christ through Sunday messages,
Ascend Discipleship and small groups;
and serve God and others through the church and its ministries.

We are committed to this mission on three geographic levels:
locally (Louisa), regionally (Virginia),
and globally (the whole world outside of Virginia).

Just as the acorn that falls must make a life connection with the earth, so man must connect with God.  We were created to worship Him, and that must begin with a right response to the drawing of the Holy Spirit in our lives . . . the conscious acceptance of Jesus Christ as Savior.  At New Life, connection points present themselves each day as we are committed to a culture of "always-on" evangelism.  Our Sunday service is the centerpiece of this culture.

Once the acorn is connected, the sapling can come forth, though it is dependent on many environmental factors for healthy growth.  So also the newly connected believer is a new creation in Christ (2 Corinthinans 5:17) with unlimited potential to grow in Him.  Part of our mission is to ensure the right environment of Christ-centered messages and small group discipleship.

Then as the sapling grows into a fully-matured oak tree, it takes its place in the forest, serving as a blessing to all who enjoy its shade and sustenance.  Likewise the mature believer, having benefited from the love and care of others, assumes their position as a servant leader, seeing themselves compelled by the mercies of God to be a blessing to Him and others through the church and its ministries.  And as the mature oak produces its fruit of acorns to reproduce and replenish the forest, so should the mature believer see themself as a disciple-maker, committed to the mission of being whole-life worshippers of Christ, and seeking to connect people with God.

"The creation of a thousand forests is in one acorn."
- Ralph Waldo Emerson
